About Our Restaurant

Bringing Authentic Philly Cheesesteaks to Central PA since 1987

Welcome to Philadelphia Steaks and Hoagies

Serving our steaks since June 6, 1987

After Joe Kowalczyck brought authentic Philly Cheesesteaks to Harrisburg, he partnered with Dave Foran to bring the delicious taste of Philadelphia to the West Shore. After purchasing the business in the early 90’s from Joe and their other partners, Dave and his wife Cathy worked hard to bring the best cheesesteaks they can every day to their loyal customers. To this day, after always 30 YEARS, Dave continues to strive every day to make every new order, the best cheesteak around.

"This place makes THE BEST Philly cheesesteaks in the Harrisburg area. As close to authentic as you'll get outside of Philly itself. Wiz wit, add peppers AMAZING. I also like a "cheesesteak hoagie" so I've had one with provolone, lettuce tomato and mayo (actually my preferred sub but not a true Philly Cheesesteak). Fries are good and crisp, service is always friendly and prices are VERY reasonable. If it's game day there may be a line but they have their system down to a science and the line moves fast. I can't recommend a cheesesteak place more in this area"

"I was staying overnight in Harrisburg, and read the great Yelp reviews on this place. Y'all, it's worth the trip. It lived up to the Yelp hype. Get the original Philly with Cheese Whiz. Wow. It's a virtual taste explosion. And the fries come out burning your lips off fresh. I paired my sandwich with a Birch beer. Now, I don't know anything about root beer versus birch beer. I'm from Kentucky, so I can talk bourbon, but I don't know all the ends and outs of this soda. I can tell you this, though. Birch beer has a much cleaner taste than root beer in my opinion, and somehow it just pairs well with the Philly. I'm glad I went that route as opposed to just a Coke. I strongly recommend. My daughter went with meatball sandwich. Loved it. And she can be picky about sandwiches. She begrudgingly gave me a bite, and I concur. This is a great sandwich as well. The best way I can describe this joint is by a shirt the owner was wearing. It said this, and I'm probably not getting the exact quote..."You know what I always hate about this place? The last bite." It's pretty dang good."
